20 + Sustainable Gifts - The Guide To Gifts That Give Back
Hello, friends! It's that time again - my sustainable gift guide is back! A big list of some of my favourite items and or brands that make giftable sustainable items. This is honestly one of my favourite posts that I do in the entire year because it's basically a round-up of my favourite things I've come across since last Christmas. A yearly best-of, if you will! This year I've had the privilege of working with so many amazing brands to showcase their eco, fair trade, low waste or otherwise sustainable practices, so I'm really, really excited for this year's sustainable gift guide - because I've actually gotten to try out a lot of these products! You'll see a few familiar brands here, and a few that I haven't mentioned before. So without further ado, here we go.
Fashion & Accessories
Darn Good Yarn.Fairly made clothing, accessories (and yarn if you're into knitting or crochet) with some seriously cool hippie/music festival vibes. Check out their website, or my blog post about their clothes for more info.
1:Face Watch. Each time you purchase one of their watches, a certain amount goes back to charity! I got one last year for Christmas and have been loving it ever since.
Tentree Apparel. Another one that makes my list every time, because they plant 10 trees for every item sold. So date they've planted over 17 MILLION trees.
Lotusland Imports. Susan has a wide variety of very wearable but incrediblyunique pieces of jewellery and accessories. All designed in Italy by fashion students and made around the world by women who earn fair wages.
Kuma Sunglasses. One tree planted for every pair of super stylish Kumas sold. Use code TheHonestRoot20 for 20% off your purchase.
Matt & Nat. I have one of their wallets and one of their handbags, and am exceptionally happy with both. Vegan leather accessories and recycled lining makes these ultra stylish bags chic and sustainable.
Chic Made Consciously.Amazingly funky accessories made out of recycled inner tubes. If that sounds crazy, you're right. It's crazy cool what designs they've come up with - you're just have to see it to believe it!
Trades Of Hope.Beautiful jewellery empowering women around the world, at home and abroad. Everything from minimal bar necklaces to big, chunky pieces, there's something for any woman on your list!
Coffee & Tea
Ajiri Tea & Coffee. Seriously you all, check out my blog post about their coffee - it has a fantastically unique berry note - and then order yourself some of that goodness (they also sell tea, obviously). Shoes
TOMS Shoes. You knew this would be on this list. For every pair you purchase, one pair is donated to those in need.
Oliberte.I have a pair of these shoes, made from 100% ethically sourced leather, and love them to bits. If someone in your life is looking for comfy, ethical, hardy, and dang good-looking shoes, snatch them a pair of Oliberte shoes.
Home Goods
Saje essential oils diffuser. You honestly can not go wrong here if there's an essential oil or natural scent lover on your list. Help them ditch the chemical sprays and get a diffuser. Seriously do it. Do it now.
Ten Thousand Villages.Check out their website or a brick-and-mortar store for everything from kitchenware to cookbooks to jewellery to tables to decor items. I kid you not, I have dozens of TTV items in my home. Fair Trade and often eco-conscious, it's a great option!
Darn Good Yarn.Yes, Darn Good Yarn has some epic home goods. I for one love their tapestries and the Wine Time candle. Their items are fairly made by artisans, lifting them out of poverty. 100% on the nice list!
Bottle Cloth. Recycled plastic bottles become these beautifully artistic table cloths, runners and place mats. Buy it for a friend - or yourself! The designs are seriously so gorgeous, they'd make any table look incredible.
Beauty
Sappho New Paradigm Mascara. I. Love. This. Stuff. Another amazing stocking stuffer for the eco-conscious beauty lover on your list, I recommend buying through The Green Kiss boutique online.
Natural Joe face/body scrubs & under eye cream.OK so I'm going to be doing a review of these 100% natural products (which are infused with coffee - OMG!) pretty soon... but take my word for it... they're incredible! I get the WORST bags under my eyes and the Natural Joe eye cream takes that right away. So now I can stay up late and my boss won't look at me sideways so much. (kidding. not really.) If you have a coffee & beauty lover on your list - a face/body scrub made of coffee is, well, paradise.
