Hello, friends! Today I am so excited to bring you a post featuring Jessica Redditt Designs — a dreamy sustainable fashion line designed by, you guessed it, Jessica Redditt — a fellow Vancouverite and a fashion industry pro. An expert who has been working in the fashion industry for many years, she opened her first boutique in Ottawa at 21 (so bad ass) and, since then, has designed for clothing lines across Canada, opened another boutique, and currently works in the film industry doing various fashion-related roles!

And all of this experience really shows in the quality of her garments. The duster jacket (which she gave me in exchange for this post) is beautifully stitched and wears well. Hubby kept commenting on how beautifully the jacket moves when I just walk around normally. Who doesn't love to feel fabulous just by putting on one garment? Side-note: I actually met Jessica at a coffee shop briefly to pick up this duster jacket and she was incredibly sweet. Something I live for is ambitious people who are lovely to be around. Jenny Mustard (my fave minimalist) mentioned this in a recent YouTube video - the joy of meeting like-minded, ambitious people who are also kind.

So what does Jessica Redditt do that makes her a sustainable designer and brand? She uses plants to colour and dye many of her fabrics, which include organic cotton, reclaimed tencel (what this jacket is made from) and reclaimed silk and sources deadstock fabric for many designs, diverting waste from landfills. Also, her philosophy is one of slow fashion: quality and timelessness over passing trends. She creates jackets like this one, tops, and pants for ladies who like to be sustainably stylish. I personally love how flowy this duster jacket is, and that it's made of reclaimed fabric. If you've been following me for a while, you know how much I love second-hand fashion, and this totally falls in line with the idea of reclaiming things and giving them a second home.
