ARLOKEA REVIEW | ETHICAL, ECO-FRIENDLY ONLINE JEWELRY BOUTIQUE

Arlokea is a woman-owned online jewelry boutique featuring ethically-made, eco-friendly jewelry. The designs curated by Arlokea are so elegant and totally the type of thing I love to wear, so I was super excited when they reached out to me to partner together for this review of their Druzy Stone Bracelet and Geometric Love Ring. This review is sponsored, but, as always, all opinions are my own.

Elegant, curated Design

Because Arlokea is an online boutique that sources their pieces from several fair trade collectives, you know exactly what aesthetic you’ll find when you visit their site - elegant and eye-catching yet minimal. And that’s part of what I love so much about the design of both the bracelet and the ring - it’s minimal and elegant and interesting to look at. I try to keep most of my jewelry simple but interesting, and this ring definitely fits the bill. The pentagonal shape and black and white with gold and marble detail makes it simple enough that I can wear it with just about anything but interesting enough that it is eye-catching. It’s also adjustable so most people would be able to fit the ring.

The bracelet is similar in that the design is simple, yet interesting to look at. I like the organic feel of the dainty gray druzy stone and together with the yellow gold this bracelet feels chic and simple with just a little bit of sparkle – and I really like that! Plus, I really like elegant organic shapes like crystals, so the druzy stone fits that perfectly, and the simplicity means it can be worn on its own or stacked with other pieces. Size-wise, the bracelet fits me well with plenty of extra chain. My wrists are roughly nine to 10 inches or 24 to 25 centimetres around, to give you an idea for the sizing of this bracelet.

Sustainability, transparency and giving back

Arlokea’s jewelry is all made ethically by workers who earn a fair wage, and many of their pieces are made from recycled materials - which I think is awesome! On each item’s listing on the Arlokea website there is a click-through list of details about who made the item and where it comes from so you can get a good sense of what and who you are supporting.

On top of this, Arlokea gives back to help fund research into Sickle Cell Disease, because the owner of Arlokea, Joelle, discovered that she is a sickle cell carrier and this motivated her to want to give back!

Woman-owned business

As I mentioned, Arlokea is woman-owned business – awesome! I love supporting female entrepreneurs who are doing things ethically.

A Range of Prices

While ethical and sustainable jewelry is inherently more expensive because workers are paid fairly and eco-friendly materials can be more expensive, Arlokea has some of the more budget-friendly pieces I’ve come across. The Druzy Stone Bracelet retails for $39.25 USD and the Geometric Love Ring retails for $15.49. This is well within my personal budget for when I want to treat myself to something sparkly or pick something up for a friend’s birthday, so I feel that Arlokea’s boutique suits a lot of people! But, if a luxury price-point is more your thing, Arlokea has pieces for that, too.
