How To Use Beeswax Wraps | LilyBee Wraps
Hey friends, hope you're having a fabulous day. I am exhausted as usual from doing a million too many things per day, but wanted to bring you a quick little review of LilyBee Beeswax Wraps, and a super quick tutorial on how to use beeswax wraps in general. Beeswax wraps are an excellent alternative to plastic wrap and, honestly, a really easy change to make in the home. I haven't owned plastic wrap for almost a year now and I do not miss it at all. Beeswax wraps and resealable lock-top containers are all I use now. Anyway, LilyBee sent me a couple of their 3-packs to try and, since I was feeling extra creative recently, I made a short video about how to use beeswax wraps with containers. Check it out below:
After you've used the wraps and want to wash them, it's pretty straightforward. Use cool water and a gentle scrubby to clean the wraps. Sometimes I use a clean cutting board or my hand under the wrap to keep it flat and easier to scrub, but I'm sure you'll find your fave method with a little trial and error. If there is any sticky residue left on a container after use, just run the surface under hot, soapy water and it should solve that little issue (because, you know, wax + hot = melt away). I have personally tried out both Abeego beeswax wraps and LilyBee at this point and I slightly prefer LilyBee, though they both have their pros and cons, probably depending who you ask. Abeego is stiffer fabric, harder to manipulate and more difficult to stick to a surface or itself, where LilyBee is easy to manipulate and easy to stick to a surface. LilyBee does leave a small residue on glass surfaces at first, though, which may be a drawback for some people. I don't personally mind this, as it goes away pretty easily with some hot water. I found Abeego left very little residue for the first few uses. And overall LilyBee has been great so far. These wraps are just really easy to use and that's what I find the most value in. However you may prefer the thicker fabric options, so it's all down to personal preference, I think. What has your experience been with beeswax wraps? Share in the comments below!
